Update from Anglian Water representative:

I am pleased to confirm that the scheme remains on programme.

The Vac-Ex was on site on Tuesday and Wednesday this week, and all trial holes have now been excavated. Existing utilities have been successfully located, and these excavations have been backfilled. Permanent reinstatement is scheduled to be completed tomorrow.

The drilling contractor is booked to commence works on Monday, with plans to install the new water main beneath the carriageway during the following week.

Subject to the drilling works progressing as planned, a lorry has been provisionally booked for Tuesday 20 October to complete backfilling and permanent reinstatement activities. If works proceed without issue, we are aiming to remove the road closure on Wednesday 21 October and replace it with two-way temporary traffic signals.

Please note that the programme remains dependent on the successful completion of the drilling operation and may be subject to change should any unforeseen issues arise.
